Sweet Sounds Jazz Festival

Place: Westfield Train Station, North Ave,  Westfield, NJ

Our return to Westfield’s Sweet Sounds Jazz Festival and an excuse for me to play jazzed “country music” on a euphonium. There has to be a first time for everything! Videos will be posted to YouTube very soon.

Somerville Summer Festival

This event was the last one in the 2013 Spring tour and had a nice turnout. We had a lot of fun and raised some money for NJWA!

What a great way to kick off the summer! The SCCC PAC was filled to capacity to the point that there was literally standing room only. It was exciting to play at the PAC- great venue and really nice people. And of course SDO sounded great! Thanks to all who attended.

Girls’ Night Out

Place: Corner of East Broad and Elm Street, Westfield, NJ

The FSJC went out today with a very small combo group today to play an hour set at this important event sponsored by the Downtown Westfield Corporation- see pictures in my gallery!

On 2 March, 2013 the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo made a one hour appearance at the Westfield Rotary Club Fundraiser at Westfield High School. The set featured Florian on lead cornet, Flügelhorn, and trumpet, Benny Davis on trombone, Cory Ackerman on drums and Lowell Schantz on guitar. Margaret Schantz (Florian’s sister) made her debut on stage playing Flügelhorn. You can watch the whole concert on My Videos or by going to my YouTube channel VFSJazzCombo.
